(Goes With RSK Lesson 7)
Remember getting a place ready before your baby was born?
Whether it was a dresser drawer or a borrowed crib or a full-blown nursery—every stroke of paint, every picture on the wall, every stuffed animal on the bed was a labor of love and dreams.
Studying for these RSK lessons, I got the feeling maybe God felt like that when He was creating our world. His power and might are on awesome display, that’s for sure. But I was also so touched to learn about the uniqueness of ‘little planet earth’ in our vast universe. [The RSK creation lessons look at some of those one-of-a-kind details.] In fact, brilliant scientists say that our planet is the ONLY place perfectly designed, down to the very last detail, so that human beings can survive and thrive. And bow down and worship their Creator.
God thought of absolutely everything. [They’re going to need this. They’ll need that, too. They’re going to love looking at this!]
I think I’ll hang a little Milky Way mobile up here for them to look at before they go to sleep at night.
With infinite power at His disposal, and no budget constraints, the God of the Universe took great joy in carefully crafting the most gorgeous, comfortable, beauty-drenched habitat for the ‘kids’ He already had in mind: His Image-Bearers; the ones who would be like Him.
As He checks off each ‘project,’ we hear Him say, That’s good.
Amen. Thanks, God.
When all Thy mercies, O my God
My rising soul surveys
Transported with the view
I’m lost in wonder, love and praise.
Unnumbered comforts to my soul
Thy tender care bestowed
Before my infant heart conceived
From Whom those comforts flowed.
—Joseph Addison, 1712
[I hope you can listen to the song; the tune is like a lullaby!]
